Outlook express 6 |
Create a new Outlook Express 6 account...
When you open Outlook Express for the first time, it should come up with the Internet Connection Wizard. If so, skip to Step 3. If not, please follow the instructions as provided. If it comes up to Connect, please click "Work Offline" and follow the instructions.
- Click on Tools. Click on Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Make sure the Heartland mail account is highlighted.
- Click Add on the right side.
- Click Mail.
- Put your name in for the "Display Name:".
- Select the first option, "I already have an existing e-mail address that I'd like to use".
- Type in your e-mail address for Heartland. Should be your username@hcis.net.
- Click Next.
- Leave the first entry as POP3.
- Type in mail.hcis.net for "Incoming mail..." and "Outgoing mail...".
- Click Next.
- "Account Name:" is your Username.
- (Should be lowercase and no spaces and should NOT include @hcis.net.)
- "Password:" is your Password.
(Should be lowercase and no spaces.)
- Check "Remember password".
- Unchecked "Log on using Secure Password Authentication".
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
